Sometimes when a motor needed to be replaced, the original serial number was stamped on the new block....

Hey Salmoneye: Didn't some WW II 2Ns and most combine engines have a sidemount magneto? Could these be changed to distributor? Can any front mount distributor engine be converted to sidemount? Or, can the sidemount distributor be used only on a sidemount block that would have been made in the late 8N era? I've been wondering about all of this for a year or so. Thanks for expertise. Evening Pepper, not to worry. What they have done is replaced the old front mount dist. with a newer side dist. from an 8N.It is a common fix for a worn out or blown up motor. You are correct it is a 1943 2N. :) Jay 2NSC
