I need new rims and tires for my 8N in a real bad way.

Right now it has 6.00X16 4 ply tires.

I am thinking of ordering the same size tires/tubes/rims in a three rib style.

That should be fine right?

I think I have heard some folks go with a 19" tire? I have always had good performance with what I have...and if it aint a problem why change???

Thanks.

Sal

I have two tractors, one with 16" and one with 19". If you ever think you might put any weight on the front, like a loader, you're probably better off with the 16", and moving up to a 6 ply. I had to get a new 19" lately and all I could find was a 4 ply, so I don't think their sidewalls are all that strong.
My 16s were three rib but now they are "no rib" (bald). At least they won't chew up the front lawn. Being quite a bit wider they spread the weight more too.

Thanks guys.

No I don't plan to ever load the front with anything, especially not a loader.

Like I said earlier the rims are really shot and I am calling up Tucker Tire on Monday morning for a set of 16's.

I wonder how long it will take for them to get here now that there is the christmas rush.

Thanks guys.

If you want to go to a 19" tire, you'll also have to buy 19" wheels. You'd never get 19" tires to seat on 16" rims. I believe the 19" fronts were the original equipment when N's were first introduced. Then later you could get them with either 19" or 16" rims. I'm with you, if it's worked well before, why change?
