Well, today, I was sitting on my tractor, trying to get the piece of junk to turn over and start. My German Shephard runs up, wanting to play, and jumps up on the left floorboard. I heard a 'pop', and the front bracket for the floorboard was broken. Upon further inspection, it looked as if it had been crashed into something, and broken before, then welded back together. This has no point, I'm just really pissed off.

Fixing the wiring and checking the circuit to get it starting off the switch should not cost much if any money. I suggest your first purchase should be a shop manual, then borrow or buy a volt ohm meter and a test light. Most info is available in the archives of this site and many very good experienced owners that will help you for free and the tractor is so simple and basic a machine to fix you can easily learn about it jsut try fixing the little things like cleaning electrical connections and such. I have found when I lose patience with a repair job and we all have I just go away from it and tackle it another day. I have a 9N 2N 8N F0 4 shop manual that you could have very cheap so email me if you need one and good luck with your machine.
regards

If it is in that bad of shape why did you buy it? Can you part it out for more money than you paid for it and buy another?

Or use the money for the farmall.

Your call.

I bought it because of the Sherman Step Up. And it ran then...still runs, just wont start...Hey. My starter wont work, but it has the slot for the hand crank. I'm sure the crank from the Super A will fit....I'll hand crank it tommorrow....

Ok, lets see.

Needs engine rebuild, the only flake of paint on it came from when it crashed into something else, tires are basically tubes, hydraulics dont work period, hasnt moved more than a foot in three weeks, floorboard broke, starter crapped out, 12 volt garbage that wot even start without connecting the battery directly to the points, and to top it all off, the bumper snapped in half. Yeah, piece of crap fits nicely. At least the Farmall runs...

68 Mag, If you want something in life you have to work for it. Evedentaly you do not have the money to do what you want. Did you think about getting a job? Instead of sitting there feeling sorry for you're self think of ways to get the money to do what you want. Granted there are no high paying jobs that young people can easily get. You have to start at the bottom and work up. Don't feel alone we have all been there. Dave <*)))><

Dang, my dad said the same thing months ago. So, I started raking lawns for money. Made pretty good, till the leaves stopped falling and it got cold. Now, in Tennessee, there's no snow to shovel. No one wants their yard mowed or raked. All I can do is physical labor, because my dad thinks I need to 'beef up' and stop being so 'puny'. So, I went out, bought a warm jacket, and got hired clearing a guy's ditches by hand for 50 bucks. Then that ended. Now, I have nothing to go on. Suggestions?

You have the time, you have a computer. Learn to build web pages and hire your services out. Start with small companies, and organizations that have little or no money. Swap your web building skill for the services of a mechanic. If you have a FNH dealer in the area, barter your services for parts and advice (and maybe a little help). With a computer there is nothing that you can't do. I know several teenagers that make a pretty good living building web sites.
