Just about tripped over a 30" dirt scoop today. slightly used and Cheap, my favorite kind!!! I'll get her hitched up and goin tommorrow ( too dark now). Thought I'd never find one here in AZ, but it just about bit me on the way home from the store. Just goes to show that patience is a virtue, or never take wooden nickels or one of those old adages my grandfather used to say.

Andy I guess you have used a scoop before, but if you haven't you will have to fool with it some.I have a 30 inch also.It took me a while to get it so it cut right. You will have it going down too fast or not at all.Even when you get it working keep adjusting it.It is amazing how good those things work. You will get it to where it feels good to you and the tractor both and not put a strain on either..Have fun....R.M. R.M. - I never found the adjustments to cutting depth to be all that hard - just lift up or lower the handles a little bit, and when it's full, let go of the handles and the front end will come up a little bit and it slides right along. When you get ready to dump, just lift up on the handles 'til the front edge catches and it will dump itself.

Did I forget to mention that the two horses pulling it should be pretty well broke before you use them with a "slip scoop"?

I haven't used one of these since Dad sold his horses in '56, so my memory might be a little tarnished. I did, however, always think a Ford tractor and a Dearborn scoop would be a lot more fun and the exhaust would probably smell better.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, y'all.

Stan
