Hi Roperboy, there are several way's you can go other than the spray-on stuff. If you ever change your mind and wanted to go back to the regular finish, you would almost be better off to throwing away the running board's with the spray-on coating.I don't think I would want the job of stripping them.:)One way to get an anti skid running board is after paint apply the anti-skid tape to them. You could even get it wide enough to cut out the FORD emblem in them.Hey I just gave me a good idea!:)Or you could opt out for the clean sand in semi dry paint. This also make's a good anti-skid surface.Just a few ideas for you all to ponder on.HTH:) Jay 2NSC

hey jay , thanks for the suggestions. i can get the stick on anti-skid from work(ssshhhhh dont tell).we use it on the cockpit floors. they are about 6 in wide and about 2 ft long. they wear thru after awhile and look ratty tho.and they are a bugger to get off the sticky residue.i have a friend that had the bed of his new pickup done with the spray on and it is 1/4 in thick and has a lifetime warranty. i would think it would last a looooong time.i was going to see if maybe he could do the boards cheap with maybe some leftover from a bed job. still not sure tho.i'll let ya know if i do it and how it works.see ya

No problem, about the spray on bed liner. I have used some cheap stuff and it chipped off on a area that road grime hits. But my father in law had a guy spray his truck bed with some and it was almost 1/4 in. thick and was tuff!! It would haft to be real clean to stay on. Should look good for a while but not sure after muddy boots ground into it for a while. At least with paint you can hit it with another coat again. Not sure if you could just spray more over the old. I sure would like to spray my truck bed with it but it was 500.00 to do it. Mark H.
