When I was working at the IH dealership back in the late 60s the guy who usually did the hauling was called out on a job one cold morning to try to start a big IH combine. He found that the bowl had ice in it so he and the owner came up with the idea to pour about a teaspoon of gasoline under the bowl and light it to warm up the bowl and that would melt the ice.

This worked better than either of them antisapated. The whole combine flashed over from the fuzz and dust that always accumulates on a combine. In a little more than 10 minutes the whole thing was just smoke and ashes and red steel. It did however get rid of the ice!!!!!

I don't think I'd use fire to melt the ice in gas.

A little ethyl alcohol in the gas will get the water out, and then it won't freeze. It seems to me I read about a Canadian who wsa in the FAR north who used a mixture of what he called "Moose Milk", which was ethyl alcohol added to Moosehead beer, but I think that was for him, and not the tractor....

Probably not near as cold as you, but enough for me. 31 and the fire needs another log or two.
Boys, forget the beer, it don't have enough authority.
Happy New Whatever.

I always add some Methyl Hydrate to my jerry can regardless of the seasonal gas. You can get that nice icicle gas snow cone effect in the venturi even in cool damp weather!
That beer idea sounds good! CYA StuK
