I finally brushed and brushed off the paint on the engine serial number. It is *8n 269840 which I think makes it a 1950.? Also the Hydraulic Res. pan has the date 3-16-50 on it.

Also I was reading where in 1950 the 8N didn't have the FORD script added to the fenders until serial number 270XXX.?

Rick

My 8N 272688 does not have the Ford script
on the fenders. That must be close to the
last one.

Sounds like you got one of the last with no script fenders. Couldn't have been more that 2 or 3 days away.

Lucky me. I like the script fenders better but I couldn't turn down my 8N for not having them.

My 8N is 280729 and has the scripted fenders. It also has a sherman trans. I would like to find a taillight for it. Did they have taillights in '50?
