Carburetor Leakage

I cleaned and overhauled my 46 2N carburetor yesterday and reinstalled it on the tractor. Today I noticed that the outside of the carburetor was wet on both bottom and top halves. I wiped it off real well and noticed after a while that it looked like gas was seeping around the gasket between the two halves. I followed the instructions for carburetor overhaul in the FO-4 manual to the letter. At the moment I'm clueless as to what is causing it to leak and was hoping that some of you N experts/aficionados might be able to help. Thanks for any help/info you can provide.

The gas in the bowl should stop well before it reaches the top of rhe bowl. Sounds like the old stuck float or bad needle valve syndrome. Could also be trash in the seat. Might want to remove it and check these items and when you do check for gas inside the float by shaking and listening to it.

Ron..... .this is fairly common. ya gotts warped carburator from tightening screws too tight.

"Zane" long time ago said to take some fairly fine sandpaper on a flat surface and gently grind flat by swirling around in figgure 8's. Inspect as reqd. Clean well when done. Good Luck..... .Dell
