I am still fairly new to 9N & when I removed the left rear tire & wheel there was a large
split roller chain sprocket mounted on the drum, is this to power misc. farm equiptment if u remove the wheel? any info appreciated. I'm no farmer just enjoy working on the old tractor. Thanks Rod

Wheels turned out wide for cultivating would clear and believe could be for a cultivator mounted fertilizer side dresser

I have an 1950's John Deere wagon that has high sides and a sprocket on the left rear wheel. Don't know exactly what it was for. I restored wagon when it turned up on some land I bought, but nothing was attached to the sprockett. I live in Arkansas so I was thinking it was used in Rice farming, but not really sure. Any ideas?

Rod they might have widened the wheels ie, turned them out so that the chain would not hit the tires.

Welcome to a very elite club of people who have cool tractors AND internet access.
I think the sprockets were to power a cultivator
or planter. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
I've never seen how one worked but I've seen this question asked here before.
Try doing a search above where it says search for:
And read through the responses.
If you don't need them yourself you might try advertising them in the classifieds here. Someone somewhere might just be looking for a pair.
