The manual says just tap it out. Hit it with a large hammer. It will not move. Has anyone changed the bushings in the lift cover? Help!

Once you take off the top cover with the lift arms on it remove the 2-bolts and straps from each end of the shaft and the cylinder and push rod ect. Then take a 1 inch bolt or pin and center it on one end of the shaft and gige it a good wack!! Be sure to set the cover on some plywood as not to scratch the gaskit area. if it dose not go one way drive it out the other way. Then you can use a good vice (not supposed to do this)and close it allmost all the way down around the shaft and drive the shaft out of the stuck lift arm. Watch out for your toes when the shaft drops out when it comes loose. The center Ram arm will slide off the shaft when you knock it out of the housing. Be careful with the bushings when you put new ones in. Good Luck it will move keep tring. Mark H. If I missed a step someone let him know. Thanks

The "hammer" that I ended up using was a 20T hyl press. If I'd of died while taking it apart,my new home would be VERY hot. Getting the arms off was no fun either.Liquid wrench, heat{oxy-acy}, and then the "big hammer". It did come apart...DaBrow.

The lift arms could be rusted on, you need to use a penatrating oil first, maybe a little heat on the arm with a puller pulling on it. Don't hit it to hard you might flare the end your hitting then it will be a pain to get off. After you remove the shaft the bushings are easy to remove. You might as well take the top housing off because the ram arm is going to fall down in the case when you pull that shaft out. Then you could drive out the shaft easier and not break anything. You should have a manual befor getting into the hydralic system so you will know what your getting into befor you start. Mark H.
