Crank front cover.

Did a quick search for this and didn't find anything. Hope this hasn't been coverd recently.

I'm working on a NAA and I need to remove the crank front cover, the one that bolts to the timming gear cover.

I already have the front end off and the pully off. The question I have is, is there any tricks to getting that cover off or does it just slide off the end of the crankshaft, once I take the bolts out of course.

I need to get that cover off because the bonehead that rebuilt the engine for us stripped one of the holes for the bolts that goes into the timming cover, and neglected to tell us.
So I'm going to have to tap the hole bigger and go in with a bigger bolt. Maybe he didn't think we would notice the oil leaking out of it.

The small cover that bolts to the timming cover
is for the governor their is a arm that goes up the side to the carb. linkage remove the pins unbolt pull forward nothing will fall out
