I saw this on another site and thought that it was a real eye-opener

Contribitions by Automakers after 9/11

1. Ford $1 million to Red Cross matching employee contributions of the same number, 10 Excursions for NYFD,company also offered ER response teams and office space to displaced Government employees.
2. GM $1 million to Red Cross matching employe contributions and a fleet of vans SUV's and Trucks
3. Daimler Chrysler $10 million to support Children and Victims
4. Harley Davidson $1 million and 30 new bikes to NYPD
5. VW Created 9/11 Foundation funded with initial $2 million
6. Hyundai $300,000 to Red Cross
7. Audi nothing
8. BMW nothing
9. Daewoo nothing
10. Fiat nothing
11. Honda nothingdespite boasting of of August 01 being the second best sales month ever
12. Isuzu Nothing
13. Mitsubishi Nothing
14. Nissan Nothing
15. Porsche Nothing Press release with condolences via Posrsche website

When the time comes for any of us to purchase new vehicles or other products we should keep this list in mind and factor it into our decisions.

I saw the same speel on my e-mail. My son checked into the information by contacting each of the companies listed. The info is false. As a GM employee, we always compete with "the other guys" but that kind of misrepresentation does not fly well here. I think some one is an information terrorist and it can only hurt an already fragil economy.
