Some ways of charging an 8 volt battery. This is just theory, never had an 8 volt battery. Also will need some knowledge of electronics. You will need about 9 volts at the terminals to charge the battery. Remember that a 12 volt battery is 12.6 volts and the alternator puts out 13.8 volts. 1. A 12volt charger with a 12 volt lamp in series with the positive terminal. Try an 1156 lamp. 3. A 9 volt AC-DC adaptor. Will take some time if the adaptor does not burn out. At least it will make a good trickle charger. Radio shack has these. 2. (Warning-DEEP) Use a 12v charger with a resistor in series with the positive cable. The resistor will drop the voltage. The value of the resistor is a problem since each charger is different and the current to the battery changes as the battery charges. It will take some math and experimentation. I would start with 10 ohms and high wattage. Then check the battery terminal voltage. 4. Build your own charger with a 9 volt trasnformer and a rectifier diode. Radio shack carries an 18volt center tap transformer (2 9volt wingings) 5. Find an adjustable power supply and set if for 9 volts.
