Has anyone had difficulty removing the fenders/brackets at the junction of the rear axles? I'm afraid the threaded bolts are frozen in to the point that they will not come off? I can remove the hex head nut easily enough with PB spray and impact wrench...but the threaded bolts are another story. This minor dillemma froze me in my tracks tonight. What metods were used to remove them at that point? I'm afraid the nut's and bolts that hold the fenders to the brackets are rusted to the point of getting a good wrench around them is almost impossible too, and I may have to use a torch and drill them out as well. 9N'er

I haven't yet but I'll bet they are at Eagle or some like hardware store. The only thing about them is that mine were pretty fine thread but I don't think they were grade 8 or anything, they were too easy to bend and rust.

I had to drill and punch/chisel 3 of mine. Make sure your pilot drill is long enough. Use oil on it and go slow as to not break it. The bolts were readly available at the local hardware store.

I had the same problem a few years back. It's just rust and dirt buildup. Maybe getting the impact wrench on the top(not sure now if you have clearance) will loosen them up a bit. Otherwise, a heavy hammer--and safety glasses will have to do. I replaced the bolts with new ones. Happy pounding.

same question as with other post below: Where did you purchase new bolts? are they standard sized well enough to run to the parts store locally? or is thess a call, order, and wait item? -9n'er

I got my replacement bolts at the FNH dealer, but you should be able to find them at a well stocked auto parts store like NAPA. Don't think there's anything special about them, just kind of large.

And perhaps long enough to hold any stabilizing arm brackets on?

Just did it this weekend. Nuts came right off, we got the bolts out by putting the nuts back on and whacking them till the bolts moved. It took a little heat to get things moving but we finally did. As for the fenders mine were toast and some of the bracket to! PLUS! the fenders are riveted on and bolted! Good Luck!!

We're you able tp re-use the bolts..or if not, we're you able to buy them locally at a parts store? I'm afraid mine will be toast too.
