Hey Guys,

In relation to the transmission problems lately I would like to offer a suggestion. Place a round flat magnet in the bottom of the transmission. It needs to be about 1 ½ -2 inches in dia. and about ¼ inch thick. This will do two things: any larger piece metal (chipped tooth) will stick to it and keep it out of the gears; next it will take small suspended particles out of to fluid and keep them from possibly making it to the hydraulics (wear).

This won't have prevented the frozen transmission problems of late but this guys are lucky; if a piece of chipped tooth got in the reverse idler teeth (which is in the bottom) the case would possibly be cracked.

This is not my idea, Chevy started it in the 60s and ford followed suit ( Ford put it in the drain plug -- "A Better Idea" ).
