Relief/safety valve info

I have a 9N in which I just replaced the hydraulic pump with a rebuilt. It came with a new relief valve but no instructions as to how it was to be installed. I suspect I did it wrong because the tractor bounces severly with a load on at full height, and the load drops in seconds when shut down.

Is there a way to rectify this through an inspection port? and if so how?

Thanks in advance. Appreciate all the help the group gives!

Very unusual. There's not much to putting a relief valve in. No adjustment - that's fixed. You just put it in the hole and tighten. One possibility is that you have air in the system. When I changed my cylinder and relief valve, she jumped and jerked and bounced for a couple of days.

you might want to put a real heavy load on the three point and work it for a while to see if there is possibly air in the system.

That's my only thought short of you got a bum relief valve.
