1944 2N. Big increase in smoke from the oil filler tube. Not burning any more oil. Not consistent, happens about 3/4ths of the time. Will even run for a while with no smoke, and then start up again real bad. No appreciable loss in power. Are there any possible causes besides worn piston rings?

When I got my tractor, I seemed to get a puff of smoke under load - it has stopped and I have convinced myself that the Marvel Mystery Oil I used freed up a sticky valve

I bought some ribbed material like this a couple years ago to line my toolboxes and I'm almost sure it was at a Home Depot. Depending on where you live it may be a Lowes. It is runner material for hallways and such and they have it in rolls to sell by the foot. It would sure save on the paintjob. Michael Az

My grandfather was sales manager for Gates Tire and Rubber back in the 30s and 40s. HE claimed to have worn out 62 automobiles in his cross-country jaunts selling fanbelts, hoses and tires(he claims to have invented the "fan-belt-on-a-hook" display and merchandising system for fan belts and hoses).
He swore tha MMO was the best thing you could put in an engine. But then, if it was, why did he wear out 62 automobiles?

Lets see, you need an overruning clutch no matter which way you go. They come in any spline size you desire. So you can spend about $50 to get a very good ORC with a small female end and be done. Or, you can spend about $50 to get a very good ORC with a large female end, *and* another $120 or so to get a larger PTO shaft. I guess if you feel the need to spend more money for no good reason, I'd say go for it!
