My steering gear(nylon or plastic)broke, and I haven't been able to find a new one, so my Precision 8N is in pieces in the house, while my real 8N is in pieces in the yard. It's like a voodoo doll...
If I ever get a steering gear(I'll probably have to hand-mill one from brass),I'll pass on getting the wheels off and work on reassembling the thing.

Well, if its voodoo, just fix the ERTL and watch the yard.

Rick no I haven't! But i think that if you do consider removing them you should check to see if they are calcium filled because they can get quite heavy. You might consider getting the dearborn 8N lift. This will save you considerable
time in removing the wheels.Be sure that when you reinstall the wheels that you tighten the lugnuts to the specified torque.
Sorry Rick I couldn't resist.
