I am a brand new 8N owner and need help to properly torque the rear axle nuts. Also if anyone can tell me if shureseals will work on my tractor. I think it's a 1950, it has a side mount distributor. Thanks in advance.

To remove the steering wheel from the Ford tractor you should loosen the acorn nut till there are about 4 threads still holding it on. Soak the area of the spline for a few hours with a good penetrant. Get yourself up into the seat of the tractor and grasp the steering wheel with both hands and while pulling back with all your might rock the steering wheel back and forth to the left and right pretty forcefully. This process will usually get the wheel to come back to where the nut catches it. You should be able then to finish removing the nut and the wheel will come on off once it has moves a bit.

Be sure not to try this unless the retainer nut is partially on the steering shaft or you may wake up on your back on the ground behind the tractor wondering how you got there.
