Anybody know anything about the light wiring on these beasts? Or where to get info on them. Long story short, when the lights have been on for awhile the head light only go off for awhile& then you can turn them on again. Have burnt wires at the switch& one time while driving in the rain the multi-function switch smoked abit. HELP!!!!! Please. TIA

When the lights go out do they come back on by themselves. If so it is because there is a circuit breaker in the light switch. The burnt wires at the light are the result of overheating because of a poor connection. The wires and termimals on the switch get hot and the heat causes the circuit breaker to kick out, when it cools it kicks back in. Replace the switch and the wires and terminals that have been hot. If the plastic block that holds the wires is too badly melted I think news ones are available. Check Ford - NAPA or other large parts supplier. If not get a used one. This is not an uncommon problem. Don't know what to say about smoke from the multifunction switch. I would guess not related but definately a concern. REM

Sounds like a bad connection at the switch.
Replace the switch and clean the contacts in the plug as best you can,and see if that helps.
Any good auto parts store should have a switch for your truck.
Good luck
