Has anyone tried a snowblower on a 9N?

I am looking at buying a 9N that has a front end loader already on it but I would rather have a blower. I found a 60" Westco blower in pretty good shape that requires 15 to 30 hp. Has anyone tried a blower on a 9N? I would like to get a feel for this combination before purchasing it.

Thanks

I know several guys who use a blower, although they are using 8N's so there are a few differences. The typical pull-behind V blowers work fine as long as you're not trying to blow too much at once and it's not too hard. Stay ahead of the drifts and you'll like it.

Reb,
I have used a blower many times on my 9N, and it worked just fine as long as the snow wasn't too heavy.

If I was to do it again, I would try to find a rear mount "V" type blower that operates while the tractor is moving foreward. A HECK of a lot easier on the neck!

Several members of this board have the mower I'm talking about, maybe one of them will post a pic.

my nickels worth,

Scott

I have seen a couple of posts in the past from guys that have the 3pt mounted snowblower. The biggest issue seems to be that they plug up if the snow is wet.

I used to have a L&G tractor with a snowblower on the front. I did not care for it especially when the wind was blowing the wrong direction. I would get covered with snow.

If the snow is dry it works great; if it's heavy or wet, the problem is that when you stop, the blower stops, meanwhile giving the heavy snow a chance to become "frozen" inside the blower, and it may not want to start again. In short, another issue with the "live PTO" deal. With a live PTO if you stop the blower keeps going which won't allow it time to "freeze up".
