Break peddle bounces.

Having an intermittent problem with the right break peddle on my Jubilee. Sometimes, not every time, that I put her in reverse and start to back up the peddle and arm bounce rapidly. Traveling about six inches up and down. I can stop it by putting my foot on it. Oddly the left peddle (whick is next to the right one) does not do this at all. What's the course of action for a situation like this? Thanks.

My 8N does it in reverse also. Not too bad. I just tolerate it for now. Maybe a brake job in a year or two when things slow down. Hope to learn fron your post. Philip.

Don't worry bout it too much. It's just the shoes grabbing. My 8N does it too. You may have some leaky seals that are gooping up the shoe facings.

Sounds like maybe your linkage for the brake is messed up and the shoe is moving the pedal. I would pull the drum inside and make sure all the springs and such are still in place. I would be afraid it could do damage or lock up myself. Mark H.

Just out of curiousity, have you tried adjusting the brake tension? Sometimes that can do a lot. Not sure if the Jubilee brakes are the same as the 8n.
