A few days ago I posted about trying to get the pin out of the lift arm yoke. It was stuck solid. I took someone's advice (Hobo?) and hacksawed the pin so I could take the whole assembly off. I then tried the heat again, to no avail. Eventually I took it a local machine shop to get it pressed out. He used heat and a 30 ton press and it still wouldn't budge! Finally we just decided to drill it out. Thanx for all the suggestions.
Rick

They need to make a Manual for working on OLD Tractors the ones they sell are ment for new tractors. You just need to work harder at getting the parts off. Mark H.

Glad I could help. This is just a small price to pay for all the "GREAT" help I have found here. I have ran a auto repair shop for 25 years and have 50 are so web links four auto repair help. Iatn.net is the best for auto repair help but this site is at the top of my favorites list. The regulars that post here are the most help full that I have ran across. Its because they won't to help you and me and others, It's their hige! Thanks to all and have a merry x-mas

Wow! At least now you know it wasn't because you weren't hitting it hard enough! 30 tons! That's really stuck.

I was rebuilding an old Ferguson hay rake and needed to remove the driveshaft yoke from the shaft. Nothing worked. Finally I did what you did and took the whole assembly to my machinist. He has a 50 ton press and it finally gave in at about 20 tons. Everyone needs a friend with a big press!
