I am confused! I have been to several "N" sites looking at serial numbers. Some show 9Ns stopping in 1942 with serail number 99002 and some show 9Ns in 1943 with serial numbers stopping at 105412. Anyone know which is correct?

Lets muddy the waters a bit more. I trust the guy that owns the site below. He is a VERY knowledgable gentleman, (and a nice guy to boot).
According to Mr. Smith, the 2N was introduced mid 1942 with serial # 9N99047...

Serial #'s beginning with 9N began in 1939 (duh!) and continued through the 2N model run, ending in 1947. I believe all 2N tractors carried serial numbers beginning with 9N.

I forgot to say that the 2N started production in 1942 as a sort of wartime 'barebones' 9N with magnetos, steel wheels, etc. Most were later 'modernized' with battery ignitions and rubber tires.
