It appears that the brushhog that came with this beat up, run down, rusted, cracked, and limping 9N has (for the most part) what appears to be the hydraulic lft control (part number 666 in the Ford Parts manual). The manual specifies that one is required. Question(s): It appears that this attaches to the right lift arm of the 3PTH. Where does this attach on top? to the rocker (#535)? What purpose does this lift control part serve? I may restore this piece, and attach it to the 3PTH, but would like to know a little more about this. thanks in advance.

That part is the top link(3rd member) of the 3PH. The parts book perspective is a little skewed. There are 2 identical pieces that bolt together to make the 3rd member(top link). There's only a slight adjustment factor. It does not attach in any manner to the right side lower lift arm #555. It goes from the rocker(your 9N, should only have one hole in the rocker to attach it to(the later 8N's had 3 holes). The other end attaches by a pin and linch pin to the top A-Frame of whatever implement you're using. Most folks have switched over to the screw-type, infinitely-adjustable top link

thanks...that is a good description. Some day, I'll figure out all of the part names of the 3PTH! From what you're saying, part 666, the hydraulic lift arm, attaches to the top link (535) and to the implement. Let me know of i got it right...thanks for seting me straight. 9n'er

The 666 is not hydraulic, nor does it attach to anything hydraulic. It attaches to the rocker and the implement. It "is" the top link. See the photo. The 666 is the red bar that runs diagonally from the plow's a-frame to the tractor's rocker.
