Bought my first 8N Ford Tractor which had a 12-volt conversion. It ran fine at first, then went dead. Replaced battery, 6-volt coil, points, condensor, plugs, distributor cap, and rotor cap -Ran fine a couple of days, then died again. Replaced points, again. Ran fine one day, then died again. Started next day, then stalled out. Replaced 6-volt coil with 12-volt coil, took off voltage reducer, replaced points again, and replaced condensor and ignition switch, still no spark!

My experience with Tractors is limited and have had all kinds of advice and remedies, but none have worked so far. Need help desperately. I would like to be able to use the tracor before the summer if over!

With all that electrical work not solving the problem, it is just possible that you have a fuel problem. Spray some WD-40 or ether in the air intake and see if that gets it going. If it starts then you most likely have a fuel problem. If it won't start then you'' have to get the old voltmeter out and start eliminating things. How to proceed will depend on your answer to the previous post, as in front or side mount dist. HTH

Is it a front-mount or side-mount distributor?

I just rewired an old front-mounted 8n and now it turns over (after a new starter moter) and sparks after tracing all wires with voltmeter and replacing points. If you don't have the service manual, I would get one for the wiring diagram or else look at www.nseries.com for the one for your 8n. Remember that yours is most likely negative ground since someone did the 12v conversion so remember to take that into account.
