I have an 8N tractor with the following serial number. *(star)8N322*. What year is this?

If the serial number is correct and original to the tractor, you have a mid-1947, Ford 8N.
Take a look at the link to John Smith's ID page below, and see if the other pieces and parts correspond to that year.

It is an 8N, this makes three that I have. I had looked at Smith's Web, but was unsure how they
numbered the tractors. This tractor has a solid
shifter, small hole pattern on the wheel lugs.
I'm getting spark to the plugs, I took the Carb. off and cleaned it. I guess I will have to make sure the rings aren't froze. I will check eng. compression tongiht. I'm working on another one, but can't get #4 to fire. Have spark, but it is either rings or a valve. Lots to do, but no time to play with it now, we are getting ready to cut hay. Thanks for the information. Have you ever adjusted the steering on an 8N? Looks like I will have problems on this one. The right wheel has a mind of its own, drag link looks good. It has a front end loader on it. This puts alot of undue stress on these old front ends.
