What are the needle valve settings for an 8N Ford Tractor or where can I find this info

Pat..... ..needle valves are the carburator mixture control valves. Your N-Tractor has 2, Idle mixture, and Power jet. Set each one at 1 1/2 turns from gently closed down. Should get you in the ballpark enuff to run.

Idle mixture is generally set for max rpm at idle of 400 rpm (500 rpm is ok too) which seems awfully slow if you're used to a modern car engine but remember max rpm is about 2500. Set your power jet so the tractor doesn't bog down under heavy load, like pulling a 2-bottom plow thru the gumbo. If your not plowing, 1 1/2 to 2 turns max out on an engine in decent shape. You can check your sparkplugs for color and soot if you do a clean cut engine stop at high rpms.
