Getting current (about 5 at top of coil) to the coil but not getting spark to the plugs. New spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor. Plugs...black, with carbon. Will install new plugs... Advice?

Hey, It just occured to me. In my town here in back woods VA. There are several part time mechanics that specilize in 8n,2n,and 9n restoration. some better than others. If you check a few local trading papers for Ns for sale, you may run across one, or find out about one. Most avid N'ers will be glad to help. Maybe you can get one to come out and put it together.
BEST OF LUCK. Dale O'9N p.s. still thinking about that tractor ride you offered. It's got to be running before I'll be coming up there.

9n'ER..... .Check my other post. 5 volts is too much for the coil. You probably got both your ballast resistors in parallel (side-by-side) or don't have the 12 volt to 6 volt droping ballast resistor in series at all. (series is like flashlight batterys)..... .Dell

Battery voltage may only need to be reduced to 6+ something volts. Of course, 5 volts might only be able to produce them thar "weak sparkies". Later, Don
