There is supposed to be a spring at the knee of the control rods that is attached to the rods at one end and the ram cylinder at the other end.

If the linkage is worn that can open up a whole nother can of worms. If the linkage is loose where it goes into the lift housing from the big draft spring it can cause trouble. If the yoke on the end of the big spring that connects to the rocker where the top link connects is so loose that the big sping is loose and can be turned by hand this could be part of the problem.

Where the quadrant and control handle bolts to the side of the lift housing there are four bolts. the holes in the quadrant square thingy has elongated holes to facilitate adjustment of the control handle so it will be more or less or higher or lower on the quadrant where it takes hold of the control linkage. Loosen the bolts and strike the quadrant with a hammer to move the whole quadant toward the back of the tractor on the elongated holes and see if this will make the lift start to come up sooner.

I think it is more if you drive it toward the back! Correct me if I am wrong on this one guys. I can't remember for sure which way to go. Back or front but I think it is back.

Also see the link below since you have a 9N or 2N because you need one of these THANGS.
