Choke/Carb...runs then stalls out

Here's a question: Slight dilemma; I fire up the tractor, but yesterday and today it runs until it begins to stall out. I pull the choke knob out and she catches again, but then it still stalls out. So I quickly pull the choke out, and she wants to rev up, and does it briefly, then stalls out. I restart, idles fine for a shorter time period than the last, then same thing...stalls out.

Wondering wether or not the gas is getting into the cylinders ok... or if the carb is acting up. It's been wet too...but it does start just fine...so I am not sure it's a wet ignition system. Plenty of gas in the tank, etc. But, I do not have the tank overhead mounted. It is temporily next to the tractor (but elevated somewhat) on saw horses and blocks. I have a flexible gas line to the carb. It may not be high enough for good gravtiy feed too...I'll check that. Any clues? thanks! 9N'er

9N'er, Like Dell said, it sounds like its starving for fuel. Thats why it starts and runs a moment, then next time runs for less time. This is simple to fix once you find which filter is clogged. You could have trash down to the carb, but more than likely its in the line. You might try a different tank. An old outboard tank would do. Suspend above for proper grav. See if it does better. If there is still a problem you will know its not in the tank or line but in the carb. Hurry up and get this problem solved so you can start on the one thats bound to pop up next. Hope it does'nt though. Dale.

9N'er..... ...sounds like you have poor gas flow to your carb. Disconnect the gas line at the carb elbow, should flow not piddle. Check the 2 filters in the gas tank valve assy. Check the 3rd filter in the carb elbow..... ..Dell
