Hey Chuck(Ca), Mrs 9N and I were discussing tractors at dinner tonight. We're just wondering if you're making progress on that ol' woodstove you started to renovate. But come to think of it, I haven't made that shelf yet either...the one above the stairs to hold the board games... I keep telling her I'm looking for just that "right piece of plywood to do the job right."

Dear Mr. & Mrs. 9N'er, Funny you should ask. Still no progress on my woodstove. I'm afraid the only cooking I've been able to do on it is when I put my crockpot on the top and plug it into the nearby outlet. Fortunately for my sweet husband the weather has been in the high 90's and above for the past several months, so my wood stove has not been a high priorty. Come September I'll start my contstant reminding (nagging).

Good luck with getting your shelf, Mrs. 9N'er. I think I might have a perfect piece of plywood in the barn. Swing on by and it's yours.

Bonnie

I think Ferguson developed kitchen attachments for the 3 Point Hitch on the old Fords. His wife was a tractor widow too...so he was forced into it. He developed something called the Ferguson PTO Masher (PTO as an acronym for Potatoe) for those large gatherings, and a PTO hook-up for spinning a drum to make ice cream...it was a foreunner to the blender. Maybe, just maybe, Chuck can back the tractor up to the kitchen window, fire up the tractor, get the PTO in gear, and pulverize potatoes and make ice cream with it. It's a start toward a good compromise. He runs his tractor, makes mashed potatoes to help you, and you get ice cream for those 90 degree days by the tractor load. Does he have a cordwood saw for his tractor? well, got to go... good post .)

There's an old comedy schtick about "Niagra Falls".
Very quickly, there's a guy who lost his love at Niagra Falls.. She meets another man there, and runs off with him. The poor fellow handles the situation just fine until somebody says "Niagra Falls." Then the guy goes nuts and starts beating up whoever said those words. It's really quite funny.. Anyway, around here my wife's personal "Niagra Falls" is actually "Wood Stove."
She's really a lovely lady until those words are spoken. Sometimes, when I'm at work, some of her friends might ask her "How's the wood stove coming, Bonnie?" I come home from work happy as a clam until I come through the front door. She has that "Niagra Falls" look about her.
Chuck.

P.S. I bought the darn thing in Autumn of 1998. I got my tractor in Spring of 1999. She thinks should have had the stove up and running by now. It's just a matter of priorities. Am I right?
