I've been told by a local tractor shop that replacing the chamber valves is useless unless you have the new valves seated. Said it takes special tools in order to do this.

Any opinions on this? Is it worth paying to have the chambers redone?

Thanks,

Roger.

That would depend on the condition of the seats. Most shops, will err on the side of caution. I would eyeball and determine for myself what would need to be done. Happy Motoring

Thanks Claus.

The eyeball thing makes plenty of sense. This tractor shop guy indicated that it didn't make a difference. New valves/reseat no middle ground.

I'm going to try the new chamber peices and see what happens.

Understandably so, If I were in business I would do the same. One cannot take chances that the seat would be leaking and have to do a rebuild. This kind of thing will eat heavily into ones profits plus diminishes customer satisfaction. Happy Motoring
