Was headed back to house after being out repairing post and pole fence and forgot the sledge so went back and hopped off after pushing the throttle handle all the way up. Then noticed as I walked around in front there was a rattling sound like a buch of BBs or ball bearings in a Prince Albert can (How many of you remember what a PA can is). Anyway, I hopped back on and slowly pulled throttle handle down. When it got to about 1/3 point the rattling stopped and I think that was just as the governor started to pick up. Seemed like the governor was just "idling" when I heard the noise. Do I have a governor job at the end of the tunnel or is it going to bite me tomorrow? Help and info appreciated as always. TIA

Norm, If you have Prince Albert in the can please let him out. And yes you are at the end of the tunnel with your governor. Overhaul time. Dave.

This is a long shot but could it have been the fan belt squeaking? I would expect anything metallic to continue to make noise at different RPM's.
