9N points fire weak.

Fisrt the points would not fire across the contacts .Had a ground problem fixed it now I have a real weak spark at the points.(this is a front mount dist}the coil seems to be ok it has a good strong spark.Does the spring on the coil have to be in the middle of the bolt?
One guy said that the condensor could be bad .But I was always told that it ether works or don't work there no end betwen.
also the piece of metal that run throw the dist cap was bunt at the top and that was not working so I filed it now it looks like it will work.
keep in mind this old tractor was not been rain in about 3yrs and yes this is my frist ford.I bought this 9n and a 8n for 1000$ .The old boy said thy run just not good.
yes I did put new point in it.
