HI,I know I'm beating this to death but I still haven't solved my problem - thanks for your patience. Here's what I've done so far - my own guesses and suggestions from others. removed pump from tractor (4 times now), removed and cleaned intake/exhaust valves, cleaned out bushings, disasembled exhaust valve and cleaned guts individually. Cleaned out tractor housing, polished valves with polishing compound When I drain the oil there is no debris coming out of the tractor. Can anyone think of something else I could try that might fix a sticky valve? I am reasonably positive the exhaust valve is sticking because it only occurs when there is a load on the lift. When it is stuck I can move the control valve rocker and control arm by pressing in on the exhaust side of the rocker arm. As I push it in it gets harder to push as the exhaust valve spring compresses. Then all of a sudden the exhuast valve lets go and the lift will come crashing down. The valves themselves have no major grooves, worn spots or pits and look very clean. There is a very small amount of play when the valve is in the bushing (very slight). They don't make the valves any longer. However, I lucked out and found a set. I'm going to try them but don't believe this will solve my problem. At this point I'll try anything. Thanks a bunch, Roger.
