Junction block?

What is the purpose of the junction block in the wiring diagram? It is just a common terminal?

Mine is clearly shot (missing pieces) and the last owner's 12V conversion bypassed this block. I discovered this while installing the TISCO 12V kit.

While I get a replacement, can I just wire everything together that is supposed to be wired to the junction block?

Rob..... ...junction block, terminal block....justa handy way to make electrical connections without them shorting out and arc welding on the dashboard. Its just a little neater than hanging wires dangling out in space and wrapping 'em with insulative tape. Do it right when ya' gots the chance, be proud of your work. Also prevents problems in the future. ..... ...Dell

Is this part the same thing as what my ford parts manual refers to a a "Resistor Assy?" (#12250)

I can't seem to find any sort of junction block in the parts manual.

The junction block used on the side distributor 8N is part#8NNN 14448. Got two new from the CNH last spring, they had to order them.

Ok, that's wierd, 'cuz my 12V TISCO kit has separate instructions for the front distributor 8N, and it refers to a junction block.

Sure enough, the ford catalog shows that part for the side mount only.

Hmm. Have to look again.
