9N lift problems Help!

I can lift things with no problem. Some times I can not get the lift to go down. Sometimes the lift will start up and keep going all the way to the top and I can not get it to go down.

It sounds like the control valve is sticking or the spring that is connected between the end of the ram cylinder and the knee portion of the control linkage is too weak to return the control valve to the lowering position. I would make sure the oil is clean and free of foreign materials which can and do build up in the lift of the N tractors around the pump.
Open the right side inspection plate and see if the spring I refered to is strong enough to return the linkage. Sometimes it is possible to shorten the spring and give it more pull and this will fix the problem. If you can't shorten it then replace it with a stronger spring/
