Where is the "oil filter" located on my 1947 9N? Can I use Slick 50 when I do change the oil?

There have been reports of the oil filter canister being removed for various reasons. It does not have to be present for the engine to function. I would prefer to have a filter, and some folks have replaced the canister filter with a spin-on filter adapter block mounted somewhere near the engine. I reckon JC Whitney still sells these things.

It's a 2N, not a 9N. Filter is located on the left front of the engine in a canister with a bolt on top holding down the lid. Cannister holds a drop in oil filter. Use Slick 50 if it makes you feel good. I doubt you'll experience any noticable benefit. In fact, it may be too thin and you'll wind up losing too much oil pressure when the engine heats up.

What filter does the 8N use. Is it commoly available or a special order?
Thanks

I get mine at O'reilly's. WIX #51010. $5 or $6 IIRC. Steve 8N 169302
