For all of you near west-central Illinois, there's a really good tractor show taking place at Argyle Lake State Park north of Colchester. IL, running from Friday through Monday. They have the usual--tractor pulls, threshing, parades, etc., plus a great flea market for the little lady. I know, there are probably THOUSANDS of this type of event taking place over Labor Day weekend, but I mention this one not only because it's nearby, but because a famous N'er will be there, namely Dwight Emstrom, who lives outside of Galesburg. He usually has four or five REALLY nice tractors there (the same ones that you see in the Pripps/Moreland books on N's). He's a really friendly, down-to-earth guy who's glad to talk tractors all day. Hope that some of you might be able to attend!

Ron

Ron, Argyle is always a great show. This year, however, Dwight will be at Pontiac, IL where the show is featuring Fords. Come on up.

If you see him at the show please tell him about my invention that gives position control on the 9N and 2N hydraulic lifts.

Zane, ya gotta start thinking about getting you a motor home and trailer and taking your ZANE THANG on the road. You should be at as many tractor shows as you can get to. Of course, if you wanted to talk about an exclusive agency in the SE US...have your people call my people.

Nothing I would like better than doing just that but it just isn't in the cards for me right now. finances you know. I do take in all the shows around here that I can but for some reason the shows here in Alabama just don't include hardly any Ford tractors. I guess the folks who own them are busy using them in the field and don't think of them as collector or show tractors. There have been several shows up Norht that I really would have liked to attend and show the ZANE THANG but can't make it happen.
I went to the doctor this week and had an EKG run on the ticker and a couple of X rays and in about another week I have to go back and have a stress test and maybe another arterialgram that I dread having so that has put a damper on my plans for the near future too. Hope they tell me to go on back home and finish painting my tractor!

Zane,
I'll drink to that.
Hope all is well and you can get to that painting!
