I took the front end loader off my 9N a while ago. Now I want to take off the short drive shaft that goes from the crank pulley to the pump end. Is the end that fits into the crank pulley threaded onto the short shaft? Right hand threads? Thanks.

Yes, the dearborn is also a left-hand thread.

Took the Wagner Loader off the Jubilee a few years ago to replace pump, rebuild cylinders and paint tractor. Believe the Dearborn is similar to the Wagner. Took me the good part of the day to take it off by myself, but I worked very slowly and planned each move before making it. The drive shaft was threaded into the disk which was connect to the crank pully by a left handed thread. Oh, by the way, got all the work done on loader and tractor I wanted to, but have yet to put loader back on. Hope to get around to it one of these days. ;>)

Just curious, I have a Dearborn on my 850. I want to remove the loader before I store the tractor for the winter (I plan to work on the sheet metal this winter and restore it, paint it and install a new wiring harness) How difficult is it to remove one of those? and what do I need to keep in mind or do to complete the task? About how much time can I expect to do that job?

Actually, my 25 year old son removed it one afternoon by himself. Slowly worked it off and now it rests on the front bucket and a saw horse on the back. So for details, I can't really tell you. Right now he's in Chicago at Moody Bible Institute. I do know that he had double hernia surgery before going to school, but I don't think it was due to that.
