have used an 8N for several years with a loader to clean the barns, resently tried to use the loader and the three point hitch at the same time, found out I couldn't . Always wondered why the three point arms was chained down, now I know. Is there a simple way to fix this problem thank, Pappy

Pappy..... .Thats the trade-off.

To use the internal hydraulic pump, you must run the PTO to run the pump and then Chain the arms down so the internal hydraulic test pressure port will hydraulic pressure out the test port on the hydraulic pump base to run the loader.

The other hydraulic pumping technique uses a front mounted pump driven by a quill shaft from the crankshaft front pully thru the radiator's cranking hole. This technique gives you "live" hydraulics any time the engine is running.

The simplest way, is to dismount your frontend loader, save all the parts, put new clean hydraulic/tranny fluid in. And then do what ever you need the 3-point hitch for. Maybe, depending upon what your situation is, renting a tractor to do the 3-point job might be eazier and less hassle.

Most N-Tractor owners if the're honest, would admit that N-Tractors are not the greatest frontend machines. But if thats all you gots, then ya' make doo..... Dell

Now, you just hush there, Dell. For all I know, the little darlin' is peekin' through the window reading this board along with me. She thinks she's a great front end loader. ; ^ )
