Will the lye kill the grass when it is washed off? Should I do this where I don't care what it kills?

Yes on the grass and about any thing else it comes in contact with Be careful around pets or livestock Be sure to wear rubber gloves and a face shield Lye does`nt care if it`s skin or paint

How well does this mix work on grease? I've an antique powered grease pump that needs a life's accumulation of grease, dirt, chaff, etc. removed before I get to the paint which needs stripping. I've scraped and wirebrushed, but there's still a lot of crud where I can't reach. Will the lye mix help me?
