went to the local stock tracter pulls the other night and out of 30 or so, there were no Ns.They would weigh the tracters and judge the percent they could pull. Some of the Hs pulled 260 percent of there weight.Should i leave my 2n home? Why no Ns? thx.

Rich, the N's are very light. My Farmall A and Allis-Chalmers B weigh about the same but seem to pull more on the drawbar. The N's seem to need the suction of the plow to really develope their pull.

Rich-
It all depends on the class you get put in. I pull with a 2N with loaded tires, drawbar at 18". I really wouldn't expect to do well agains an H. My Super C with dry tires can outpull the 2N. But against A-C B's, Farmall B's, A's, etc. I can be competitive.

The H is a 24-26 hp tractor. The 2N falls in there slightly lower a 16.3 drawbar hp. The H probably weighs more and has a different gear ratio set and rear end ratio and weight distribution. The problem with the N's is lack of traction. If it weren't for the Ferguson system, they probably wouldn't be the plowing champs they are. There's lots of N's in pulls in other places. Success depends on the pulling class and the know-how in set-up. Why not take your 2N and try it? That's what makes a horse race....
