My neighbor called last night and wanted me to come over and walk him through removing the rear wheel components to replace a leaking seal. It was too late for I get up for work at 0300 hrs. Well, I told him about this site for information, said he would check it out. He can't figure how to get the thing apart. I have worked on lots of 8N's and J.D's, but have never worked on a 9N. I'm sure I can figure it out. Seems within the last month somethings were said about them. Well, I've gone to the archives and typed in 9N rear wheel seals, it's not showing me anything. Any suggestions? He said he had a manual, but it didn't show or tell him much. Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks

The bolts for the axle and brake backing plate are on the inside. Loosen the brake adjustments by turning the square post counterclockwise. Remove the nuts, then put a couple of them back about halfway back, on opposite sides. Gently tap with a hammer on the two nuts. Operate the brake pedal on that side to help loosen it. The brake pedal and everything should come out together.

Good luck and happy tractoring.
