I'm rewiring a Ford 6V system and using the electrical diagram from the Vintage Ford Tractor Resource 6V Ford Wiring Diagram.

How do I, and where do, I wire for front and rear lights?

Can someone explain to me, using that diagram, how to wire for front and rear lighs? Thank you in advance. P.s. this is for a 54 Ford 850, but I trust the electrical experts on this Forum.

Oh, the Whimpster 9N as been running great...Thanks ((have to get a 9N statement in here so I'm not bannned from this forum! for illegitimate use)

..... ..since lights were a dealer installed "option", there are probably as many ways to wire up headlights as there are headlights (grin). Myself, if and when I get around tuit (as opposed to a square tuit) I would specifically wire in a seperate "ground" wire for each light and not depend upon tractor chassis with its many rusty joints for electrical ground return. I definately would not wire the lights through the ignition switch, its not built for it..... ...Dell

As Dell, Claus and others often point out, because these items draw lotsa current, better to hook them as close to the hot side (could be negative or positive depending on which is ground on the tractor in question)of the battery as possible. I am still rolling about Claus' tounge in cheek remark "Ohmic" Resistance (He ought to be in politics if he can make up new words like that). Thats it! Claus for president!!!! and a 9N in every garage!

I thought we just covered this...Read down a little... Lights are wired the same. Does not matter if your tractor is a 600, NAA, 9N...

By the way, We are still waiting for a pic of your machine.... Maybe the stories are true, that you don't really have a tractor... (Dell Grin)

When Photopoint asks you to upload from your 'puter, click on 'browse'. Then click on 'My Computer', then 'D Drive' (usually this is what your 'puter will call the CD) and then find the file (picture) that you want to upload. Highlight it, and hit enter. Voila! Oh yeah!...Make sure the CD is in the drive, eh?

If this doesn't work, you probably have a Mac :-)

PS I saw the original picture and I am still green with envy!

Actually I just wanted to say 'Hey!' anyway...

You must have missed it, Claus. 'bout a month and a half ago Zane posted a pic for 9N'er. Tom claims it's his.. Looked suspiciously like Tyler's though. There couldn't be two that are that purty. So, we're all waiting to see a pic of both 9N'er's and Tyler's tractors together. I don't think we'll ever see it.

If memory serves me right, I offered to buy them each a can of Keystone or something like that if they would show them both at the same time... so far, no takers.
