Washed tractor,Son tried to start it,Would'nt start. Son left key on.Fried points and amp guage. replaced all. still no spark.Question, could coil also be fried? What about the ignition switch? Could i have inadvertly be 180 out on dis since i had to take it out to dry it out?I've only had the 48 for a couple of months. It has a 12volt conversion and the wireing is really rag tag.It ran befor but not as good as it should have.Any help would be appreciated!!

Assuming you have a front mount dist, you probably fried the coil. It's very hard to put dist in backwards as the tang is offset and I've heard you'll break the little ears off the dist when you tighten the bolts. You can jumper around the switch to check it out. If that's not it, probably the coil. HTH Steve 8N 169302

You can check for spark on top of the coil, if none there then must be switch or short in between. If spark there and no spark out, gotta be the coil. Steve
