While working on my wireing problems i discovered that my 8n has a 9n engine?Serial no *9n250080*I even had the little woman check it out and sure enough, thats what she be.Also on the head it is stamped 9n 6050-b. So apperantly the engine has been swapped?? Rear axles are stamped 8n and will check underneath on tran pan tomorrow for any stamps.Question,Would it still be wired the same as a 8n?? What about the points and plugs and or carb adjuetments?I,ve decided to start with a new ignition switch and put in every thing new. With every ones help i should have myself a really good tractor.Momma says to get of this pc so i better scoot and thanks again for yall's help.

The only place the 9N (actually late 2N) number on the engine is going to bother ya is at the Concours de Elegance trailer queen tractor competition. Treat it just like it was an 8N front mount distributor engine.Wiring, tuneup, carb, etc, are all essentially the same.
