did the N's have a place to store the hand crank on the tractor when not in use, my 9N didn't have a crank when I got it and wondered if they were all sold new with a crank

Since the great majority of N's were electric starter equipped the crank was for emergency starting only and had no storage place on the tractor. N's came with a crank included in the tool kit.

A buddy of mine gave me one thats fit his 48 N, but when I went to use it on my 51 N, I was surprized to find that it would not work. Mine does not have "T" type crankshaft end, but rather a " torque" (sp) type end. I just wanted it for to set points etc. Stan

We had one on our 51 8N when I was kid. I remember it as black. Problem is, I forgot to get it when my mother sold off all remaining stuff Dad left laying around the farm. It probably bought $.10 a pound. Arrrgh!! Can't use it anyway, have a pump driven off the front of the engine for my loader.
