Here's a small story (for the collector in mind).

Been looking for a cast 9N PTO cover since last April. I've been asking around, putting feelers out, looking, and you name it. Hard to come by they seem. Saw a casat PTO cover on the YT auction 2-3 weeks ago. I wanted it..and said this is my chance....

Watched the bids on it, kept my fingers crossed. waited an hour til it was to close then, put my bid in...then it began, the bidding war. I would put mine in, someone would raise it 50 cents. went on like that for an hour. I jumped it up 5.00...and waited...just before close...someone put one in for 50 cents smore...UGHH! Put another bid in and waited, then, i go to my computer it's up another 50 cents Uggh. then my computer crashed, and I lost it. Felt dejected...darn computer...within a minute of perhaps aquiring the cast pto cover...and i lost it.

So, I placed an ad on the YT classifieds. two weeks later I get an e-mail someone has two of them. I say great! send one. we settle on a price and I'm expecting a cast steel. Today, a 1939 cast aluminum cover arrives for less than the auction price of the cast steel...and I felt lucky. made my day. never would i have guessed I could have found one of those 1939 cast aluminum pto covers. this was fun. 9N'er p.s. now i'm on a mission to find an original 4 bar ford bumper...keeping my fingers crossed!

Slim pickens on the original bumpers, but you might price it to be fabricated by a blacksmith. Cargocult or somebody has a post in the archives with the dimensions. I found a pretty tore up artifact of a bumper about a year ago, and a nearby blacksmith turned it into a work of art, correct rivits and all. <$65.00
